Andrea has written three plays and several short stories. Her play Aye or No about the Scottish Independence Referendum through the eyes of young children was described as a ‘Must see’ by the Edinburgh Evening News. Dark comedy/drama After Party about dysfunctional parents falling out of the Noughties club scene was shortlisted for the Scottish Short Play Awards. She has recently been selected by Playwrights Studio Scotland for their mentorship programme and is currently developing After Party into a full length drama. The play explores issues of single parenthood, post natal depression and addiction, contains elements of movement and dance and is set to an upbeat soundtrack of 90s happy hardcore and trance.
As a graduate of Girls Rock School Edinburgh, Andrea’s powerful vocals at the helm of all female rock bands have been raising the roof and smashing glass ceilings across Central Scotland. When not turning it up to 11, she enjoys singing traditional Scottish folk music and has performed works by Hamish Henderson as part of the cast of The Radical Road in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
